Support Operations Engineer:

We are looking for a Support Operations Engineer to work with a leading technology company here in the Bay Area. Linux System Administration and Cisco Networking Skills are required.  In addition your ability to work with customers, engineers and development teams, knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager and experience with the Medical Industry will be a key to your success in this role. Knowledge of Cisco Telepresence is a plus. This role is primarily operational in nature and is part of the cross functional team that provides technical support for several implementations serving customers throughout the US. The work hours are Monday thru Friday, 5 am PST to 2pm PST.  
 
Required:

 

TCP/IP -trace level troubleshooting - Have you ever worked with packets in a trace?

Senior level troubleshooter

LAMP experience

Strong Linux administration

Cisco Networking

IIS - proxy server

PHP, Bash scripting

OSS-video

CCNA level skills

 

Skills Required:

Working knowledge and experience in ITIL processes such as change, problem, incident, configuration, release management and security administration
Linux, Windows, Web 2.0, Cisco Unified Communications (VOIP), LAN/WAN, ability to learn quickly.

 

Responsibilities:

Provide day to day operational support for customers

Provide level 2/3 assistance for all related issues escalated to your attention

Provide root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement

Maintain system configurations

Perform software upgrades

Assist team members in documenting operational process and procedures

Maintain up-to-date topology, network and system level diagrams for internal and customer related solutions

Assist other team members in developing and improving operational support models

Partner with team members and colleagues to ensure compliance with Information Security Guidelines and HIPAA

Participate in the administration of solutions

Provide feedback to development and implementation teams

May be responsible for solution delivery for early customer adoption of projects on-site if required

Working with cross-functional teams to participate in meetings to map customer requirements

Work with team members to prepare for operational reviews with customers

Work with other teams to drive service re-use and planning in order to maximize cost-saving across multiple projects. Report back to management with written reports based on best-case recommendations on joint team efforts across multiple organizations

Further develop solution scaling - Identify new area of solution innovation and provide assistance to scale repeatable solutions
Work on time-sensitive projects to support larger customer deliverable projects
