Position: 1

Title: MQ Series Administrator

Duration: 12 months

Location: Marysville, OH, USA

We are currently accepting resumes for a MQ Series Administrator in Marysville, Ohio. 

The selected candidate will perform the following duties: 

- Design and build MQ Series environments 

- Tune MQ Series on multiple platforms 

- Document startup, shutdown, troubleshooting, change management, and application build procedures 

- Build MQ series queues on multiple platforms 

- Monitor queues 

- Configure message channels and MQI channels 

- Support developers using MQAO to develop adapters 

- Run system diagnostics, analyze error logs and dumps 

- Analyze system performance and build reports 

- Design and implement MQ security across distributed queues 

- Performance/stress testing 

- Install and configure AIX Servers 

- Perform daily support tasks for all MQSeries, WebSphere and DB2 

- Configure and Tune Db2 UDB Database Servers 

- Report on problems and problem status 

- Install, configure, monitor, & tune MQ Series & Integrator 

- Support users/developers 

- Troubleshoot problems/failures 

- Plan upgrades, environment changes, etc. 

- Change management, application migration 

- Install and configure MQ/Series on AIX and MQ Integrator on AIX 

- Perform basic Unix system admin functions related to MQ Series 

- Troubleshoot MQ Series problems 

- Monitor and tune MQ Series using BMC Patrol for MQ 

- Install and Configure DB2 on AIX 

Required Skills and Experience: 

- MQ Series admin-install, configure, upgrade, maintain, troubleshoot experience 

- MQ Integrator installation and support 

- BMC Patrol for MQ 

- Unix system administration (AIX preferred) 

- Queue definition on multiple platforms 

- Experience with MQ WAAB 

- Experience with Websphere Administration 

- Administration of DB2 UDB Databases on AIX, HP-UX Servers 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

- 5+ years experience in a large multi-platform IT environment 

- Experience in a DB2/UDB environment 

- Some knowledge of WebSphere and WebLogic 

- Experience with i2 or Ariba, AIX 

- Exposure to MQ on HP-UX, OS/390, NT, and OS/400
