Duration:  12-18 month contract

 

 Job Description:

 

Our health insurance client has a need for a Database Developer/Analyst.  This is a long-term contract position beginning in May 2010, with an emphasis on Oracle database development, PL/SQL programming, Microsoft SSIS development, Business Objects development and support, and Oracle DBA support.

 

Position Responsibilities

·         Work within the Data Team and with business users to support existing programs and business processes and continue development efforts for ongoing Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft SSIS projects.

·         Support existing Oracle data warehouse environment including the design and implementation of relational database structures and reporting & transactional tables.

·         Support Oracle development including the creation of tables and views utilizing both OEM and Quest (Toad) tools.

·         Create test plans and other critical technical documentation to support their systems. 

·         Provide technical consulting services and recommendations to improve existing system and database design and data processes.

·         Perform Oracle DBA backup and support duties.

 

Qualification Requirements

·         Four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or two-year degree with equivalent work experience.

·         5+ years experience working with business clients to define requirements, build systems, and create technical design documents following a full Systems Development Life Cycle approach.

·         5+ years experience programming in PL/SQL, developing functions, programs, and stored procedures.

·         5+ years experience in Oracle database design and development.

         3+ years experience in MS SQL Server development (SSIS).
