Position: Sr. C++ Developer needed - Oracle and AQ
Location: Philly, PA
Duration: 6 + months
Rate : DOE
I am searching for a C++ Developer - local to PA, NJ.
Provides intermediate level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of client server and/or web-based applications.
Provides system analysis, design, development of enhancements and defect fixes in a distributed, multi-tiered environment, applying OOA and OOD techniques using C/C++, according to CLIENT'S standardized methodology for Application Development.
Thoroughly understands application development methodology.
Trains and mentors staff with less experience. Resolves issues elevated from staff with less experience.
Translates Use Case Requirements, technical specifications and design into code for new or enhancement projects for internal and external clients.
Develops code that reuses objects, is well structured, includes sufficient comments and display diagnostics, and is easy to maintain. Writes programs, ad hoc queries, and reports.
Participates in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues/defects. Participates in other meetings, such as Use Case design and reviews.
Elevates code into the development environment on schedule.
Formally documents issues/defects and supports issue/defects resolution until closure.
Authors the system/technical portion of assigned deliverables. Assists technical team members with the system/technical portion of their deliverables, e.g., systems testers, test plans.
Acts as a tester for unit and integration and related testing. Writes the test plan to ensure requirements are satisfied.
Has the understanding of the tools available to test C/C++ code for coverage and memory leaks during unit testing.
Understands client business functions and technology needs. Understands tools, technologies, and applications/databases, including those that interface with business area and systems.
Complies quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established milestones
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated track record of strong Object Oriented Analysis and OO Design.
Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++, Unix Shell scripting
Structured Query language (SQL), PL/SQL
ProC
Proficiency with Oracle and AQ
Working knowledge of Solaris Workshop and Makefiles
Performance tuning
Knowledge and experience with MQ Series
Experience with TCP/IP and Sockets programming
Working knowledge of products and programming connecting various databases in a distributed environment
Other Competencies:
Five years developer or systems analyst experience
Strong, demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
