Overview:

 

This engagement includes the use of technical skills for developing software solutions, and working with people to extract and document system requirements. You will either be working alone on small projects or on a larger project team under a project manager or technical lead. It is desired that the successful candidate could be either a developer or a technical lead. You would be producing new applications as well as extending and enhancing existing applications.

 

You will be eliciting requirements from the technical staff for administrative functions on existing products and from the business for small systems.  The ability to effectively communicate and work with clients, team members and other technical support teams is critical to success in the position.  The person being engaged will also need demonstrated technical expertise, strong problem analysis and reasoning abilities and the ability to work on a team or independently.

 

Technical Skill Requirements:

·         The successful candidate will be able to develop services using Java based tools and design and build web based user interfaces using Adobe FLEX.

·         Service development will require the ability to understand and produce UML design models.

·         You must also be able to create EJB3/JPA code from the model documents.

·         JUnit for component testing will be used, and you must be able to determine your own component test requirements.

·         Prior use of JBoss and its components including Log4J and Hibernate is preferred.

·         User interface development will require the ability to understand use cases and be able to develop interfaces that fully implements the use cases.

·         Familiarity with the development of wire frame prototypes to elicit user experience requirements is required.

·         The ability to write test cases based on user interactions is also desired.

·         User requirements will be documented using a UML based methodology focused on use cases and process models.

·         The tool, Enterprise Architect from Sparx Software, is used to document the requirements.
