Loc: Austin, TX

Exp: 7-9 yrs

Dur: 6 Months

 

Description:

• Provides expertise supporting work on database systems with advanced technical complexity of SQL Server architecture.
• Provides support for High availability and disaster recovery of for critical database systems.
• Provides support for complex transactional replication environments.
• Implements standards relative to all aspects of SQL Server database management
• Provides solutions mapped to business/user and application development needs
• Develops technical and organizational specifications for systems
• Manages large, complex projects that are longer-term in nature or projects that have been identified as a critical priority for the user community
• Sets quality standards relative to all aspects of database management
• Contributes to the quick resolution of database performance issues and root cause analysis when related to Project launches.
• Backfill for team members as needed on other projects or production issues
• Primarily support Development and some proactive Production database activities
• Serves as consultant to the business on database programs and long-term systems strategies
• Ability to work with technical database resources worldwide in the implementation and management of SQL Server Database technologies
• Evaluate new database technologies and tools
• Apply database technology to business problems
• Come up with the database architecture design that supports the information needs of the business in a scalable and secure environment.

 

 

Qualifications:
At least 6-8 years experience as a SQL DBA with experience in SQL 2005, 2008
• Experience with development and production database environment. 
• Expertise in SQL performance tuning 
• Expertise with SQL Replication and clustering a must.
• Experience in Capacity planning, storage management, db trending and estimations.
• Experience automating DBA task such as change management and database monitoring
• Deep experience in architecting, and managing large enterprise SQL database environments
• Programming experience in a multi-tier environment
• The ability to effectively use design and productivity tools in building applications and database components
• Understanding of T-SQL
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong Team work and interpersonal skills 
• English fluent
