Duration : 6 Months
This project is a continuation of the effort to re-architect the POS application. This effort, which utilizes newer technologies, will lead to lower cost releases and decrease time to market.
a. 6 to 10 years (senior level) of C#.Net and C++ development in back-end, client-server environment
b. experience with rewriting an application into .Net
c. experience working with WPF
d. experience working with Work Flow Foundation experience with manual and automated testing (no specific tools required)
POS – this is the point of sale system…purchase, exchange, return data are handled by this system – this has both Java (used to be mainframe) and .Net components to it. The Java piece handles sending the POS data (3 million records/second) back to the corporate servers for metric reporting among other things. The .Net piece handles the front-end of the system. For example, if a customer has Kohl’s Cash or is using their Kohl’s credit card, the POS front-end has to be able to handle any form of payment. THIS SYSTEM IS NOT WEB BASED AT ALL. IT IS A CLIENT-SERVER (WINDOWS) APPLICATION, WHICH MEANS THAT THE APPLICATION IS INSTALLED DIRECTLY ON TO EACH RESPECTIVE POS. THEY DO NOT USE A WEB BROWSER TO LOG INTO IT.
