Location- Chicago, IL

Duration- 6 months

Rate $45/hr

 

 

Job Description-

 

The UNIX Administrator will provide 24x7x365 support for mid-range Sun/HP-UX/Linux environments. The UNIX Administrator will provide analysis and implementation support for new server installations including requirements, initial implementations, customization and integration with the intent of optimizing the operational environment as well as day- to-day, strategic, and long term management. This person will work closely with internal business customers, technical team members and other internal support groups as well as external vendors to ensure a smooth implementation, management and support of the Unix Environment.

Required Skills:

                        Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, but also as part of a collaborative team

                        Excellent analytical abilities, resulting in problem resolution.

                        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Required Experience: Minimum of 8 years (8 – 10 years for Senior Level Admin) System Administration experience and be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following disciplines:

Operating Systems:

                        Solaris 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 9 and 10 (Solid Understanding)

                        HP-UX 9.07, HP-UX 10.20, HP-UX 11.11, HP-UX-11i (Solid understanding)

                        RHEL 3.x, 4.x and 5.x
