Title: Sr. Systems Engineer

Location: Metro Detroit, MI

DURATION: 6 MONTHS+

REQUIRES IN PERSON INTERVIEW

 

Responsible for the operating systems environment and storage management processes,

performance and capacity planning for enterprise servers.

Does not supervise other employees.

Requires minimal supervision.

Exercises judgment within generally defined practices or policies.

This position requires someone with strong Windows 2003 & 2008, IIS, and

content management skills (e.g., Ektron). Skills in .NET. will be preferable.

Primary Responsibilities / Typical Duties:

Process:

• Coordinates significant changes with the Help Desk, Operations and other IT teams

  to ensure good change control processes are followed.

• Performs problem determination on moderately difficult problems (3rd level support).

• Implements systems disaster recovery plan.

Technical:

• Designs, installs and maintains Enterprise Server software platform and tools.

• Researches/recommends tools to support the successful monitoring and operation of computer system components.

• Provides assistance to developers and DBAs on inquiries or development problems with operating system environment.

• Performs on-call support for assigned products.

• Performs space management and capacity planning.

Education and / or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 2 – 4 years experience in Systems engineering
