Must have a good credit risk background.  Minimum of 3-5 years in risk analytics or data management role in the banking industry.

Must be able to drive interactions with business users as well as liaison with IT. Must be able to do UAT's. Must have strong experience  developing business requirements.


 

Position Description

Risk Grading Business Analyst will be a key contributor in the Risk Grading Department to:

1) act as subject matter expert for all aspects of credit grading

2) coordinate and oversee the ongoing enhancement process for CIT's Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) risk grading system

3) analyze and support data quality management and collection

 

The business analyst will translate risk rating initiatives into functional requirements and ensure that requirements conform to the overall objectives and specifications of Corporate Risk Management.  Candidate will work closely with Data Governance and Reporting, Systems and Technology Services (STS), and Vertical / Business Units to ensure that the data management requirements are appropriately implemented in a consistent manner.  Through reporting analytics and business relationships, candidate will seek, obtain, monitor and analyze feedback from the business users to improve systems, processes and reporting.  The business analyst will analyze trends and monitor overall data quality to identify training needs and improve quality of reporting.  This position will report directly to the Risk Grading Manager.

 

Description:

1. Act as subject matter expert for all aspects of grading and liaise with all areas of CIT on issues related to grading.

2. Coordinate and oversee the ongoing enhancement process for CIT's Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) risk grading system.  The Business Analyst would:

i. analyze business requests for feasibility and collaborate with key personnel based upon processes, procedures and workflows, with the ability to make sound recommendations based upon findings, ii. develop business requirements and technical specifications for any changes or enhancements, iii. act as liaison between Risk Rating Department, grading user community and STS (Systems and Technology Services), iv. conduct preliminary testing, coordinate UAT and provide guidance for users throughout the UAT process, v. develop test plans and scripts related to UAT testing, and vi. maintain all documentation related to system development and enhancements for audit purposes.

3. Work with the business owners to document, implement and maintain the metadata and business rules for CIT's grading data, including consistency in data definitions, business naming standards, development of standard calculations, etc.

4. Analyze and support data quality management and collection in support of grading validation and back-testing.

5. Drive ongoing grading monitoring and develop metrics and reporting requirements as necessary.

6. Lead identification, prioritization and resolution of grading data quality issues with business and technology representatives.

7. Assist the technology teams in the identification of grading data not found within CIT's primary systems.

8. Document procedures and workflows for risk rating reporting.

9. Assist in the preparation of training materials and facilitation of training workshops.

10. Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills:

1. Degree in relevant field (Business, Finance, Accounting, etc.).

2. Minimum of 3-5 years in risk analytics or data management role in the banking industry.

3. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements as it relates to risk grading.

4. Robust understanding of principles, practices and tools used in data quality analytics and data modeling.

5. Candidate must have strong analytical, organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage and escalate issues as appropriate.

6. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
