Experience: Must have 5+ years of Windows Server system administration experience with 2+ years in a team leader role. Must have broad Windows Server technical expertise and experience, including Server 2003 and 2008 Must have broad expertise and experience with VMware Must have broad expertise and experience with server blades and chassis hardware, ideally IBM components
Primary Responsibilities: Direct and support a six to ten member Windows Server administration team including: Monitor incident ticket queues and assign team resources to resolve Identify and resolve delays in completion of incident tickets assigned to the team Review change management records and assign across team members Provide positive coaching and skill development to team members Manage team member on-call coverage Serve as an escalation point for incident resolution both during normal business hours and after-hours Assign to team members and review work by team members on problem management Assign and track to completion corrective actions identified by incident management and problem management escalation processes Assign and track to completion project work activities for the team ? Using insight and experience, proactively identify opportunities for continuous system design and configuration improvements. Proactively supporting the development of living system configuration, operation and support documentation and work instructions. ? Perform other team leader activities such as interviewing contractors for temporary roles on the team, identifying and resolving any personnel issues on the team, balancing work load across the team members and their skills levels, and similar.
