REQUIREMENT:          

Sr Systems Administrator

Chicago,IL

Contract till 12/31/2011- extendable

 

Job Details:

Require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 3-5 years of experience in the computer hardware/software maintenance, system integration and trouble shooting.

Will work in the research lab focused on developing new technologies.

Required to install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves hardware and software related problems.
Performs system backups and data recovery.

Maintains disk storage systems, data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.

Familiarity with Linux, Windows 7 required. Experience in writing automation scripts (Perl) preferred.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of tasks including data collection, hardware/software testing for research projects.

Works under general supervision; Reports to a project leader or manager.

A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required to accomplish the tasks.

Good communication skills required, as the job requires interacting with colleagues in other parts of the organization and vendors.

Good documentation skills required to detail the results of the exercises.

Should be detail detail oriented.

Should be flexible and open handle multiple tasks and learn new hardware and software systems.
