Release Engineer

Location: Mooresville, NC

Duration: 5+Months

Description:

Primary Objectives and Responsibilities:

Work as a member of the QA team providing release management support and oversee software quality control for the Testing Center. As a member of the team, the qualified candidate will work with IT PMs to verify content (release notes) and participation into software/hardware releases and the testing teams to ensure consistent promotions into test environments.  Candidate will also develop and maintain standards, processes and controls for configuration and release activities to ensure consistent repeatable releases. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the coordination, issue resolution, and testing progression for releases.  Candidate will also provide guidance to developers, testing and configuration/release teams in the preparation of code delivery, environment usage, and test phase planning.   Individual must be a self-starter, have strong problem solving and decision making skills, good communication skills, results oriented, and work well in a team environment.

 

Required skills:

- B.S. in Computer Science or related field with proven technical systems troubleshooting skills

- 5+ year of experience in release management during testing phases

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills

- Must be a self starter, collaborate across team boundaries, drive issues to conclusion and hold others accountable for results

- Must have strong leadership skills

- Must be able to successfully manage small to medium sized projects

- Must be able to follow and adhere to policies and procedures

 

Desired skills:

- PMP, ITIL

- Experience with Serena SBM, IBM Raditional, and CVS
