Job Title: SAP Basis Manager
Duration: 3- 6 Months+
Location: CARLSTADT, NJ
Qualifications Mandatory:
- SAP R/3 and SAP ECC 6.0 systems administration experience.
- SAP Performance Diagnostics, Backup and Restore, and Security Administration experience.
- SAP Solution Manager experience.
- Experience with one or more of administering Security Weaver, Taxware, HP-UX/AIX/Linux/Windows Operating System, Oracle DBMS, and Enterprise Job Scheduler, experience.
- SAP Data Volume Management experience.
- HP OpenView Management experience.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for support and maintenance of the SAP Server Infrastructure, Application landscape, and its interfaces using SAP Basis/Netweaver and non-SAP tools.
- Plan, introduce and support improvements and upgrades to the SAP system environments, supporting software, and interfaces.
- Investigate new technologies, hardware and software packages to improve the SAP system performance, stability and systems administration procedures.
- Implement, manage and turnover the SAP Systems Monitoring solutions.
- Design, Create and maintain processes and scripts to automate system administration tasks.
- Collect and analyze system and network statistics to aid in debugging any problems and performance issues within the SAP systems. Monitor SAP Data Dictionary, Database, System, Storage, and Network performance to help prevent system bottlenecks.
- Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the NOC, Client Services, and Systems Administration personnel to improve Global 24x7 Support of the SAP system.
- Work with the Applications development teams to implement new or modified applications.
- Create run-books and other documentation using Microsoft Office products.
- Develop, administer and enhance the security and privacy of the user data on the servers.
- Develop and Implement Project plans using MS Project and Daptiv Project Management tool.
- Perform resource and spend analysis for projects needing SAP changes. Manage and prioritize projects and the day-to-day workload of the SAP Administration team. Work directly with the other managers within IS to coordinate and prioritize work efforts.
- Provide Technical Supervision of consultants on projects as needed.
- Help develop and maintain enterprise job schedule involving SAP data input and output.
- Follow Change Management, Help Desk ticketing, ID validation, Security, SOX and PCI regulatory compliance, and other existing or new Technology Services policies and procedures.
- Work directly with Director of Technology Services – Systems Administration to create and manage projects, budgets and team strategy.
- Work closely with other IS groups to establish standards for system, database, messaging, application, security and systems management architecture.
- Work closely with the Application and Technology partners in order to develop and leverage processes and technologies in an effort to support and maintain systems in a standardized and efficiently manageable method.
- Contribute to defining and implementing policies and procedures in the areas of Disaster Recovery, Enterprise Backups, Management and Security of SAP systems, and Data privacy.
- Work with Application and Technology partners to review and address the deficiencies noted in the SAP Early Watch reports.
- Work with the Application partners to tune the application and server performance.
- Work with the partners to determine the data security and privacy requirements and implement approved security configurations.
- Provide 3rd level support for help desk calls.
- Rotate with team members for the on-call support schedule.
- Work with other team members during weekend and after-hours maintenance windows to apply software and database changes to the systems.
- Travel to other client facilities to install and configure new systems or to debug problems with the existing systems.
- Establish and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships with staff and executive teams in order to support business systems.
- Function as "mentor" to the SAP Basis team; provide business and technical guidance, provide regular informal and formal (periodic performance assessments) feedback.
- Provide proactive communication of issues and progress/status reporting.
