Job Title : Cisco Engineer

Location : Birmingham AL

Duration : 6+ Months Contract

Required Skills/Competencies/Personal Attributes:

5+ years experience in Banking Industry

Proficiency with all primary Microsoft Office and related software applications.

CCNA or equivalent Cisco/or comparable router experience preferred

Technical certification and/or on the job technical training certificates preferred

Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced and demanding customer environment.

Candidate should maintain exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must have a positive working attitude, strong technical aptitude, and have the ability to lead by example.

Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced and demanding customer environment.

Strong understanding of T1 and DSL loop technology, relative makeup, common applications, circuit composition, installation/repair process, and fault isolation procedures.

Desire to technically mentor and/or train less tenured technicians

Knowledge of data networking, including: TCP/UDP, ICMP, ATM, Frame Relay, VPN, routing, bridging, and switching

Good understanding and knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and RIP, EGRIP.

Strong working knowledge of IP networking including VoIP, COS, QOS, and sub-netting across an MPLS network. 

Knowledge of MUXs, DACs, PSAXs

Desire to technically mentor and/or train less tenured technicians. 

Possess strong sense of self-motivation, and be comfortable with management and customer escalations. 

Maintain strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to work in a fast paced, time critical environment.

Off hours and Overtime availability may be required as needed to service clients.
