Java Developer

NEED LOCAL CONSULTANTS

 

Role and responsibilities

•  Design and develop network-facing data collection functions for performance management functions in VOIP, Mobility/Wireless, IP Services Network, and Uverse/IPTV projects.
• Test and support functions for multiple releases for data collection from network devices, EMSs, or upstream systems
• Architect, code, test, and support network facing data interfaces and post processing; can include obtaining topology information about networks and building configuration and related GUIs as well as performance measurements collection
• Provide data to downstream systems/components via one or more mechanisms such as web Services, secure file transfer, database insertion, and other technologies.
• Cover assignments for a PMOSS Collector Developer in the role of Network performance data collection for multiple release deployments interfacing with technology vendors/SMEs
  and outside consultants as needed

Education

• Typically some college/degree or equivalent
• Telecom network interface development, Java, Perl, Shell programming, ksh, Spring
• Application Dev in large scale applications; Object-Oriented and high performance design/development including distributed and parallel processing;
• Network Device Command Line Interface programming;
• Oracle/Teradata SQL;
• Typical protocols include SNMP, TCP/IP, SSH/SFTP/SCP, HTTP, SOAP, Webservices;
• Unix/Linux Development
• Telecom network domain experience for development in VOIP, Wireless, IP, and/or IPTV data
• Experience in retrieving data from network equipments using SNMP and/or CLI (command Line Interface) using Java and Expect;
• also webservice (preferably Weblogic), secure file transfers, and other interface types as required by the network device
• Network routers and devices experience strongly preferred
• Understanding of IP networking, socket programming and multi-threading a plus
