2 New roles in Houston. That's right Houston. There are only 3 vendors on this and that's how we would like to keep it for Texas roles, because we may see some roles in Dallas coming out for our Retail Bank, so let's try to keep this to ourselves.
This is for I.B. Team is looking for 2 mid-level Developer/Analysts. Candidate should be strong at C#(object oriented development). That should also be performing a BA function at their current role. Candidate should come from industry, but can understand coming from Texas if they don't. Candidate should have no visa issues, because the team would like to look into converting these people down the road. Any compliance knowledge is a huge plus, if they have experience with SAR or OpenLink that would be ideal.
If these roles were perm they would be looking for AVP's so we are not looking for anybody super senior.
As part of the wider global Commodities Technology team, the Critical Development group is responsible for all non-strategic application development for our global Commodities business and infrastructure partners.
This recently formed team has a truly global footprint. The global head, based in Asia, has 3 regional leads who collectively run teams based in Singapore, Pune, London, New York and Houston.
Critical Development has high exposure to the front to back business areas and infrastructure groups on a daily basis, delivering a diverse range of technologies and platforms that support all product types traded.
Main Function
The primary responsibility of the team is to ensure we are effectively and efficiently managing and delivering a pipeline of discretionary and non-discretionary work items for the global business, whilst also supporting production application availability, data quality and performance.
Strong business analysis, coding, quality control and relationship management skills are a prerequisite, and the successful individual will have a proven track record of application delivery as well as dealing with the business at all levels of the organisation.
Main Duties
Highly skilled AVP level candidate will leverage Commodities business and application development skills to deliver high quality, robust technical solutions supporting global users.
Effective communication with all levels of business stakeholders and the wider global team members are key, as is the ability to mentor less knowledgeable (but capable), local or remote team members.
Specifically assigned to delivery of Compliance reporting; this role will focus on meeting regulatory requirements for development of strategic Commodities surveillance reporting.
· Identify issues within projects, processes or procedures and look to provide or influence solutions.
· Taking part in department wide technical forums and/or initiatives. Leverage technical, communication and influencing skills to achieve win-win outcomes.
· Proactive communication with local and remote team members in person, over the phone or via VC.
Person Requirements
· 3+ years experience in business facing production application analysis and development, demonstrating a proven track record of first class delivery in an investment banking like (high pressure, dynamic) environment.
· C# - expert in the design and development of distributed, mission critical systems.
· Commodities background in regulatory reporting very desirable.
Other useful technologies skill set
Must be able to select appropriate, possibly unfamiliar, technologies for a task and use them to implement solutions to tight deadlines. Should be keen and able to use unfamiliar technologies through self study.
· XML – able to understand and produce XSD schema definitions and XSL transforms. Use from within Java and .NET applications using standard DOM/XPath APIs.
· Spring Framework/Spring.NET – able to break down applications into components and dependency inject with XML configuration.
· Able to follow continuous integration, test driven development approach using JUnit/NUnit and Cruise Control
· Team city – able to develop and run builds scripts using Team city would be an advantage. SQL – able to query complex data using SQL on ORACLE and MS SQL Server. Understand and write database procedures using PL/SQL or T-SQL.OpenLink Endur and OpenLink RightAngle experience desirable.Able to produce OO designs or enhance and re-factor existing designs with suitable approach. Design solutions which are testable, meet performance requirements and are maintainable.Recognise when a common design pattern will solve a problem, recognise the consequences and trade-offs of using it and apply it when appropriate.
Interpersonal/Team skills
Able to coordinate tasks to ensure an end to end solution is developed with no gaps. Team player who can balance individual objectives with those of the team.Strong communicator who will use both verbal and written communication with team members, other members of the global Technology team, management team and business stakeholders. Able to influence others to achieve win-win outcomes.
Able to review work undertaken or being planned by others, highlight issues and recommend solution.
