Job Title: DevOps Architect/ Lead

Duration:  12 Months (Contract )

Location:  Jersey City, NJ 

 

Job Description

• Overall 10 - 12 Years of experience
• Everything is an API approach to coding.  Integrations experience a must-have.
• Hands-on experience in building micro services is preferable.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience using configuration management tools like Chef essential.  Experience with Puppet / Salt / Ansible desirable.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience using automated build tools (Jenkins, Hudson, CruiseControl, Teamcity etc). Jenkins experience essential.
• Experience with Bash and Ruby, Maven & Ant is mandatory.
• Ruby experience with regards to Chef and RSpec/InSpec DSL grammars.
• Experience with Build / Release and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deploys for Java / .NET and SQL applications, extremely desirable.
• Familiarity with Github, Perforce and other source code control repository and versioning systems, essential.
• Familiarity with server monitoring and service monitoring tools like Nagios, XenOSS,  New Relic, Data dog and CA tools.  Knowledge of log analysis tools like Splunk is an advantage.
• API based integrations into these tools like CA Layer 7 or equivalent is a must.
• Hands-on with Virtualization at Datacenter  VMWare, AWS and IBM Clouds.
• Deep understanding of High Availability design approaches in AWS in the cloud and in the data center.
• Deep understanding of network and server Security concepts various services in AWS.

Basic expectations

• You are a prolific coder who works well independently
• You have great communication skills
• Computer Science / Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• You've "carried the pager" before (ideally at both a startup and a large infrastructure provider) & have first-hand experience with what happens when deployments fail
• You read up on and experiment with new technologies because it's in your nature, not because it's a job requirement
• You don't just learn how things work, you learn why
