SCOPE OF SERVICES:
Support and enhance existing Dynamics 365 CRM application based on continuously evolving business needs
Lead Zoning Application Project (ZAP) from a visual design perspective.
- Identify visual design opportunities through exercises such as brand/interface audits, comparative or competitive analyses, gap analyses, and system mapping, and make recommendations based on what you discover
- Navigate complex organizational relationships to bring stakeholders together around shared design systems or visual identity goals and priorities
- Coach project team through the visual design process and establish a shared vision for the user experience
- Probe technical experts on their methodologies, finding opportunities for clarification, improvement, and digital intervention
- Map user journeys through government processes, breaking them down into actionable, logical components
- Conduct user research and distill insights across all our user types (and help us define them), from government employees to private sector analysts
Deliver high-quality, user-centered visual design for ZAP stakeholders
- Create clear, inclusive, accessible, and extensible visual styles and components in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Iterate quickly by collaborating on prototypes at various levels of fidelity
- Incorporate continuous feedback from users, peers, and stakeholders by leading design-focused usability and critique sessions
- Create wireframe an interaction flow diagrams for application
- Write concise documentation clearly explaining features and functionalities
Contribute to the continued success of the agency design team and contribute to its shared resources
- Contribute to team-wide resources and training materials, including tutorials, guides, presentations, and design toolkits
- Recognize when practices or processes are inconsistent or no longer serve the team, and recommend a way forward to improve effectiveness or efficiency
- Share your work in an unfinished state and give peer feedback in weekly critique sessions and drop-in labs
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred
- 4 or more years of user centered research in the development of digital products or services especially on a cross-functional app development team. This experience must include:
- Developing user research plans, interview protocols or question guides
- Conducting User interviews
- Conducting Contextual inquiry or Observational research
- Conducting Qualitative research
- Conducting Participatory design workshops
- Experience leading user experience design and research to iteratively develop digital products or services within large or complex environments. This experience must include ALL of the following:
- Conducting usability testing or user testing
- Using agile, lean or other iterative product development approaches
- Teaching or mentoring non-designers how to use user-centered design methodologies
- Managing or leading design efforts within complex organizations or highly regulated environments
- Experience with wireframing and flowchart tools
- Demonstrated ability to communicate design concepts both visually, verbally, and in writing
- Organized and thorough, with a proven ability to bring order and logic to processes and tools
- Ability to synthesize perspectives from a variety of users, ranging from technical experts to non-technical generalists
- Experience working on modern design/development teams and understand the importance of collaboration, teamwork, and clear communication
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Good communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Team player who can establish excellent working relationships with peers and other teams
- Ability to analyze applications, identify issues and document findings
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- A portfolio of prior design work (UI, UX, front-end dev)
- Front-end development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Prior experience with federal, state, or local government technology projects
