QA Consultant -- West Chester,PA -- 6+ Months

Duration: 6+ Months

Description:

Deliverables:

• Debug the development and execution of test scripts against the test targets.

• Analyze performance assessment metrics for concurrency and transactional values.

• Work with performance engineer to develop the test plan scope, coverage and objectives.

• Work within the project team and test team to address issues and report status.

• Analyze non-functional requirements to identify and prioritize test targets. verify requirements as testable.

• Develop test scripts and scenarios to verify non-functional requirements according to standards/best practices with alignment to test plan/strategy.

• Provide estimates to develop test scripts and build them according to project schedule

• Provide quality metrics for test script build, execution and defect management activities.

• Create test data and develop test data requests for each test script.

• Record time in CLIENT time reporting system (EPM). Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Applies a comprehensive knowledge of performance testing practices and procedures to identify application bottlenecks and provides suggestion to development teams.

• Performs end-to-end performance testing activities from gathering requirements to analyzing results and provide recommendations.

• Works with the teams from Development, QA, DBA and SiteOps to measure, analyze, and help optimize the performance and scalability of new releases.

• Reviews capacity plans and production usage statistics to create appropriate used case scenario in test environments to ensure acceptable levels of performance.

• Prepares and executes Loadrunner test scripts using modularized load testing framework.

• Takes responsibility to create baseline performance data, develops performance test scenarios and maintains test data

• Makes recommendations to ensure optimal performance and reliability for mission critical and global enterprise systems which have direct impacts to the company's bottom line and customer perception.

• Analyzes client needs, and develops a unique solution or chooses an approach or procedure for addressing a work task applying multiple and varied options.

• Establishes and shares performance best practices, design and execution of effective performance test strategy

• Demonstrates innovative thinking and strong problem-solving skills to develop solutions for complex issues.

• Identifies opportunities for improvement and provides recommendations to leadership for established procedures and SLAs.

 

Specific Job Knowledge:

• Expert in using performance testing tools including Jmeter, HP Load Runner, Performance Center with capabilities in analyzing performance test results.

• Proficient in working with multiple performance testing protocols like Web HTTP/HTML, Web Service, Siebel, JAVA over HTTP and Windows Sockets.

• Capable of using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, HP Diagnostics, AppDynamics, Splunk, KeyNote and BMC Patrol.

• Good knowledge of the HP Loadrunner and HP Performance Center test tool components: VUGEN, HP Diagnostics, Controller, Analysis, Correlation Libraries.

• Understanding of CLIENT's Technical architecture, IT infrastructure and extensive knowledge of the current enterprise development tools and interoperability within purchased toolsets.

• Understanding of the role of the Test Tools and process in CLIENT's strategic technology and application development goals.

• Ability to quickly gain an understanding of CLIENT's business application functionality.

• Proactively seek ways to increase development efficiency through use of automated testing tools.

• Strong Math and Statistical background.

• Strong C and JAVA programming background.

 

Experience:

• 4-5 years of experience in the IT technology field.

• Prior job working as a Performance Analyst or Engineer with minimum 2 years of Tool experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in performance testing. Experience with performance testing tools (e.g. HP LoadRunner/Performance Center, JMeter, BlazeMeter).

• Minimum 2 years of work experience with formal software performance testing methods.

• Must have proven experience developing Performance Test Plans for larger projects.

• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.

• Demonstrated ability in preparation of test plans, test reports and other documentation.

• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office, Visio, IBM Websphere or similar J2EE application servers.

• Strong PC and Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Unix skills.

• Current knowledge in technology that is relevant to CLIENT .
