The candidate will serve as a senior developer and offshore team lead for a
Windows-based performance attribution and analytics system.
Development responsibilities include
1. Enhancements and support of an intranet web interface
2. SQL-Server routines for calculations and reporting, as well as
transforming, loading and extracting data.
Functional responsibilities include
1. Independent interaction with business users to understand
requirements
2. Collaboration with other onshore developers
3. Leading teams of 2-3 offshore developers on specific projects
4. Application and production support.
Business Skills:
. Basic knowledge of the investment management industry
. Ability to understand algorithms for performance and attribution
calculations
. Knowledge of investment performance systems is a strong plus.
Communication Skills:
. Excellent oral and written skills are required.
. Candidate should be able to effectively communicate with offshore,
document specifications and conduct analysis and review sessions with other
team members.
General Management Skills:

Technical Skills:
. 5+ years experience with Microsoft SQL server, SQL client and
related tools, ASP and .NET technologies
. Familiarity with MS Project, Visio and other MS Office products
. Experience with C/C++ and Crystal Reports is a plus.

Title: SQL Programmer
Location: NYC
Duration: 5months
Description:
Primary Responsibilities
. Consult with clients on their technical architecture and data extraction best practices.
. Understand products and the impact that different data integration approaches will have on the completed system.
. Work closely with the Client Services team and clients throughout ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) process to ensure data acquisition from source systems all the way down to application database.
. Perform data loading, validation and troubleshoot issues in addition to collaborative efforts to improve client's data quality.
. Participate in team efforts to create/improve ETL tools and processes.
Qualifications and background
. At least 4 years experience in software development involving databases.
. Solid SQL knowledge with 3+ years hands-on experience in a MS SQL Server 200X environment, specifically with T-SQL development, Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
. At least 2 years hands-on experience with VB.NET or C#, knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and ActiveX Data Objects (ADO).
