Team is about to build 4 new environments.  They need someone to hit the
ground running.



Will need admin experience including Java, HA, JVM.  Ideally would like
someone with Soarian, but this is a bonus.



This person will be responsible for building, setting up, and running
environment (break/fix).  Will work side by side with existing Engineer
who will do the optimizing and architecture.


MUST HAVE PRODUCTION SUPPORT EXPERIENCE.  Please specify what they have,
how many years, etc.



Responsible for supporting middleware infrastructure in the Windows, Unix,
Linux technology space. Duties include the installation, tuning and
maintenance of middleware applications.
Perform system security, backup and recovery in these environments. Work
closely with the rest of the team and application development teams to
troubleshoot and optimize Java-based environments under the general
supervision of the Manager, Middleware Technologies: General

 Responsibilities: Install, maintain and tune middleware applications.
Responsible for provisioning middleware infrastructure. Responsible for
Websphere based middleware patch maintenance/ upgrades. Responsible for
IBM based middleware patch maintenance/ upgrades.
Develop procedures for backups/restores of the middleware software.
Provide performance analysis of Java based infrastructure including
capacity planning to maintain application stability. Analyze performance
data and makes recommendations to management.

Project & Development Support:

Participate in project meetings acting as a resource regarding technical
tasks on projects. Responsibilities include project planning on technical
tasks, the development and testing of system components, documentation
preparation and review, system implementation activities, participation in
project and team meetings, and product implementations within Windows
technologies. Production Support and Maintenance: Provide support for
application development team for debugging and troubleshooting. Work
closely with the rest of the team and application development teams to
troubleshoot and optimize the environment. Communicate with the
development teams when changes occur.

Requirements

Four-year degree mandatory. A degree in Computer Science or MIS a plus.
MIS or Computer Science course work at the graduate level a plus.
Certification on either WebSphere Application Server and Windows/Linux/
Unix is highly desirable. Expert level with Websphere Application Server.
At least 6 years of technical experience, of which at least 3 years should
be in a Windows/UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator role. Windows/UNIX/Linux
expertise. Experience with MS SQLServer environment required. Experience
with Oracle RAC and DB2 is a plus. Knowledge of platform internals.
In-depth knowledge of Java Technologies and some experience with
Enterprise Storage systems. Experience with OPNet Panorama is a plus.
Requires very strong troubleshooting skills. Requires very good knowledge
of TCP/IP and DNS. Working experience in large scale Middleware
environment. Must have good verbal and written communication skills as
well as the ability to effectively interface with internal IT and User
personnel. Requires good documentation skills to meet compliance
requirements. Experience working in a change-controlled enterprise
environment a necessity. Candidate must be well versed in security, system
performance, troubleshooting, clustering, and fluent in shell scripting.
Position interacts with users to recommend purchases of hardware/software
and coordinates installation with vendors and/or technicians.
