Looking an experienced Software Engineer to join its eCommerce platform development team based in Redwood Shores, CA. This team is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the highly-scalable platform that processes EA's ecommerce, online authentication and entitlements systems for millions of customers every day. You will work closely with our worldwide games studios to identify and develop the features supporting their new game releases and online monetization. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performance team responsible for implementing Electronic Arts' critical eCommerce and Direct to Consumer strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver on new software releases of the highest quality through good design, attention to detail and system testing based on evolving requirements and on a timely basis.
Identify and investigate key game backend requirements and solutions, including performance, reliability, scalability and security.
Work with games studios and integration partners to utilize platform features, troubleshoot issues and refine functionality over time.
Maintain documentation to support the operations when the code is in production.
Collaborate with the other IT system owners to identify and develop features that support and enhance new and existing games.

Requirements:
Demonstrated strong proficiency in Java, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat, Apache.
Three or more years experience of commercial application development.
Excellent knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of REST-based API integration paradigms.
Solid object-oriented design, programming, and debugging skills.
Highly motivated self-starter, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent team player, eager to learn from others and to share skills with colleagues.
Degree in Computer Science or related subject.

Desirable:
Experience in the eCommerce, online payment processing, or financial services domain.
Experience with Agile methodologies
Experience with Perforce and Hudson.
Experience with Unix/Linux and other open source technologies and platforms.
Interest in video games and online social networks
Preferred if consultant has earlier worked with SSEASE2
