Position: Oracle DBA with SAP

Location: Chicago,IL

Duration:6 months

 

This resource should be familiar with working in environments at about SAP ECC 6.0, Siebel 8 or 8.1.#, and recent releases of the Oracle database compatible with Siebel 8.1. This resource will assist the shared services center with the installation of the databases, optimizing performance for Siebel and working the admins on the Siebel installations as well. Also, working with the integration leads to be sure data movement between environments is seamless.

Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for the day to day administration, support and monitoring of Oracle databases in a large SAP environment.

* Provide technical support troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade and provide solutions for Oracle issues, proactively seek out ways to improve performance and streamline environment.

* Develop standards and processes for support of environment to be used by Technical Operations in support of operational monitoring.

* Ensure availability of standby servers, participate in Disaster Recovery tests.

* Manage projects using standard project management technqiues.

Essential Requirements

* Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field

* 5-7 years of hands-on experience providing Oracle support in an SAP environment

* Experience supporting large Oracle databases not less than 500GB

* Excellent knowledge of Oracle versions 9i and 10g.

* Experience with Unix operating systems

* Aggressive in following up on problems

* Well organized and self-motivated

* Good communications skills

* Previous similar experience.
