Description:
Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for Cisco network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity.
Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
Performs system tuning, as well as recommending and implementing improvements.
Performs troubleshooting procedures and create/maintain scripts.
May take on role of Project Manager for special assignments.
The level of work required is considered advanced and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision.
This job does not have any direct reports.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Fulfills administrative responsibilities such as : Time reporting, project revisions, updates, and plans, audit interface, customer and management strategic / functional planning and meetings
Directs the planning, design, installation, maintenance and coordination network services provided services
Presents information to management which may result in the purchase and installation of hardware and software
Directs the planning organizing and management of security, disaster recovery and similar functions related to the local area network infrastructure
Performs troubleshooting of local area network infrastructure issues while working with teammates, department staff and customers.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree, graduate coursework preferred
7 to 10 years of professional work experience specific to network services support in lieu of degree
Coursework in computer science, mathematics, engineering, scripting and related technology
Knowledge & Skills:
Demonstrates independent thinking and decision-making abilities
Possesses and applies both specific and broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the field of network services
Other Requirements: May travel up to 25% of the time
