Position: IBM WAS Portal Developer

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA

Duration: 6-12 Months

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This individual will be working as part of a team of application developers on various projects.  The candidate must be able to produce well-designed, readable, supportable code while adhering to established SDLC & programming standards.  This candidate must be flexible with multi-tasking & adjust to reprioritization of work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

             Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant industry experience required.

             Candidate should have 5+ years of IBM WAS Portal development experience

             Candidate should have 5+ years of J2EE development experience.

             Good working knowledge of object oriented design.

             SOA Knowledge & Experience, with at least 1 – 2 practical implementations.

             Understanding SOAP & Web Services

             Understanding of Model Driven Architecture

             Able to read design specifications to enhance SOA components

             Experience with Spring MVC, Struts framework, JSP or JSF frameworks for developing Web applications.

             Able to write technical design documents & create/update developer guides.

             The candidate must show success in developing new applications as well as maintaining existing code.

             Experience with relational databases & writing SQL for DB2.

             Familiarity with RUP & the use of UML tools & techniques is desired.

             Excellent communication & written skills are required.

             Must be self-motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks with minimal direction.

             Ability to multi task & meet deadlines.

• Servlet v3.0 (JSR 315)

• JSR 168 & 268

• RAD

• Portlet Factory

• Design Paradigms like JSF, Struts

• JavaScript, AJAX framework, DOJO

• Internationalization

• Integration pattern with Backend (SPRING, Custom etc)

• Portal features like inter Portlet communications, web clipping, Portlet services etc

• Detailed design for Business Logic

• Web Services to access business logic

• Enterprise Java Beans (Session & Entity)

• Data Access Layer (JDBC, JMS, File access etc.)

• Detailed design for Security

• Portal Authentication & authorization model map to requirements

• Portal SSO with third party vendors

• Personalization of data

• Themes & Skins, CSS

• HTML

 

Web Content Management

• Detailed design for Web Content

• Information architecture knowledge

• Defining Taxonomy, site map etc

• Designing the Authoring & Presentation templates

• Defining the workflow

• RSS & integration techniques with third party WCMs

 

Experience in any of the following products

• IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA)

• Connections & Same time

• Lotus Forms

• Dashboards
