Position: Senior Java Developer

Location: NYC

Duration: 6 months contract

Rate: Open

 

Interview Process: Phone screen first (very technical), then a face to face (May take 2 hours)

 

H1 will be considered. MUST HAVE TOP COMMUNICATION SKILLS… A MUST!!!   FINANCIAL AND TRADING EXPERIENCE IS MUST.

The Role:

You are an experienced Java & C developer with expertise in engineering large distributed systems and a passion for building great product for consumers in the area of financial analytics & information.
You would be exposed to all asset classes, ETFs and Funds, portfolio analytics, quant model implementations and deep engineering issues in building a secure and scalable web/mobile platform for financial information delivery.
You will be working with a world class team and be involved in the full software lifecycle, including, participating in system design, development, testing and production support.

Qualifications:

- 5 years contractual work or equivalent background
- 3+ years of object-oriented Java Programming Skills
- Good knowledge of Java/Python/C/C++ development practices (generators, iterators, list, comprehensions, descriptors)
- Exceptional knowledge of data structures and algorithm analysis, including Java collections & concurrency
- Familiarity with Java & J2EE frameworks
- 3+ years experience with a SQL procedural extension language implementing stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc (with preference for PL/SQL)
- Knowledge of database engine internals and usage in real world environment (with preference for Oracle)
- Experience developing in Linux/Unix environment (5+ years)
- Good Understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP and Network programming
- Strong troubleshooting skills and multi-tasking skills

Helpful:

- Deep expertise in the Web technology stack (Apache, Tomcat), web templating engines
- C/C++ Linux/Unix Systems programming & performance profiling
- Knowledge of portfolio analytics across all asset classes, helpful
