Sr. MS SQL Server DBA

Location: Westlake TX (suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth) - Must be local to DFW, and available to interview in-person.   

(US Citizen, GC, EAD,TN only)

Duration: 5 months, likely extension thereafter

Primary Responsibilities:

• Database subject matter expert with expertise deep expertise in a Microsoft SQL Server.
• Design and architect database systems for database systems as large as 2TB.
• Research and recommend new technologies.
• Apply standards and strategies for security, database objects, and systems maintenance.
• Oversee all aspects of database activities to insure database availability and performance
• In conjunction with Project Management, installing, upgrading and configuring complex database management system software that has broad business impact.
• Validate that all physical database designs satisfy business requirements, and meet standards to database objects, data integrity, security, performance and recoverability.
• Monitor capacity and performance, troubleshooting and proactively resolving a wide variety of problems.

Job Description:

• Designs, develops, implements, installs, and maintains enterprise level Microsoft SQL Server database systems in a multi server environment.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and correct database problems and to proactively maintain the health of database systems.
• Create backup/recover utilities according to defined standards.
• Codes and implements stored procedures and scripts for system maintenance.
• At the higher levels, interface with the appropriate groups to ensure that database systems meet business requirements.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

• 5+ years of directly related experience

Working Conditions:

• Office environment working closely with business technical staff and project managers.
