Job title: Java developer w/ GWT experience

Location: NYC

Rate:$DOE/hr on C2C

Duration: 6-12+ Months (high likelihood of extension)

Ideal Candidate:

An ideal candidate should be easygoing and possess 1-2 years of extensive experience with Google Web Toolkit especially Smart GWT. Smart GWT is strongly preferred but not required if the candidate possesses excellent GWT skills. A working knowledge and experience with Java, Spring framework, Jasper reports is a must.

Project:

The current law school Student Information System is composed of a Course Management sub-system, Registration Records, and Student Profiles residing on an Informix database. The application has an administrative office front end developed on PowerBuilder with the ability to manage courses, registration, exams, student profiles, multiple reports, and more.

The Student Information System also has an integration module that imports student data from external admissions databases, and performs data exchanges with the Central University registration system. The system has been moved from Informix to Oracle and from Powerbuilder to Google Web TookKit. The project is approximately 90% completed.

Columbia Law School (CLS) is interested in working with a talented web developer that will help develop custom reports on the new system. The candidate will work on the completion of the web user interface, in collaboration with our internal developers who provide business logic for the project. The web user interface is written using Smart GWT framework.

The person should know that he/she won't be writing code from scratch but will be fixing/enhancing existing code written by someone else.

Must Have Core Skills:

• Strong GWT experience, especially Smart GWT
• Working experience with Java, Spring Framework, Jasper Reports
• Web UI experience (HTML, CSS, JS Libraries, AJAX)
• Ability to review and fix existing code
• Familiarly with Maven, SVN/CVS
