Job description

• Do you pick up new skills quickly, enjoy solving a variety of technical and business problems and want to work directly with the people that will use your solutions? Excited by new technology and interested in working on some of the most complex and challenging problems in finance?

• The portfolio risk and margins team develop and support the global counterparty market risk and margin requirement calculation system. We are building a cross-asset class, portfolio-based margin calculation system that generates portfolio risk measures that used by our risk managers to review and assess the firms counterparty risk and exposure.

• The ideal candidate is a strong technologist, preferably with experience building large scale enterprise-quality applications in Java, interested in learning about finance, motivated and organized, willing to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment.

• Do you have experience with and ideas around scaling applications using caching and NoSQL databases? Even better!    

Skills Required   

• Experience building complex, large-scale applications, preferably in Java (similar experience in C++ also of interest) in a Unix environment

• Understanding of fundamentals of threading, object-oriented design, design patterns, Spring

• Good verbal communication skills (Ability to explain difficult concepts for example)    

 Skills Desired   

• Experience developing with NoSQL databases

• Interest in or experience with statistics and or finance
