DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Develop and oversee development of software in accordance with programming standards.

2.      Develop and review assigned functional specifications using standardized templates to describe functionality of software and impact of functionality to other parts of the system.

  1. Develop and review assigned technical design documents to ensure all programming changes are recorded for audits and future reference.
  2. Develop unit test plans and test cases.
  3. Perform unit testing in accordance with unit test plan.
  4. Perform peer source code review.
  5. Develop software installations (as required).
  6. Document and develop migration software.
  7. Participate in Product Meetings.
  8. Track changes to all modified source code in version management software.
  9. Track changes of testing of yet-to-be-released products in the quality tracking software.
  10. Record resolution process for assigned work orders of released products in the customer support system.
  11. Work closely with Customer Support in resolving assigned customer inquiries and requests for product and technical information.
  12. Work closely with Testing in resolving testing issues.
  13. Work closely with Professional Services in resolving client implementation issues.
  14. Responsible for following the procedures described in the Standard Operating Procedures and Development departmental handbook.
  15. Increases self-marketability by developing greater technology, industry, and product knowledge by attending courses/seminars related to technologies appropriate to the software development being performed, industry developments and trends, and self-studies to strengthen product knowledge
  16. Minimum travel may be required to attend conferences and training.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

 

  1. Ten or more years of related software experience.     
  2. Advanced degree in Computer Science          
  3. Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle.
  4. Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Industry or Regulated Industry.
  5. Comprehensive and current knowledge of software development methodologies.
  6. Knowledge of technical architecture as necessary for development of software.
  7. Knowledge of appropriate programming languages as needed for development of software.
  8. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with team to obtain requirements and translate requirements into design.
  9. Expert knowledge and hands on experience of ORACLE 10g/11g database programming (PL/SQL, database design/architecture, data management).
  10. Expert knowledge of database modeling and concepts.
  11. Expert knowledge of Oracle-related development environments (scripting, SQL Plus, TOAD, SQL Navigator, or PL/SQL Developer)
  12. Experience in an environment using Oracle with Java/J2EE architecture, XML and other web technologies.
  13. Knowledge of UNIX, NT and Windows operating systems, application server and portal technologies.
  14. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
  15. Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  16. Ability to mentor and lead others in development and administrative tasks.
  17. Ability to deliver high quality and high productivity.
