Sr. Software Engineer (Local consultant preferred)

Chicago, IL

5+ Months

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Development and support of testing tools and test automation framework components.

• Collaborate with analysts, testers, and developers to identify required tool and component functionalities.

• Design and prototype testing components which are configurable and scalable.

• Collaborate with other engineers on architecture, design, code, and configuration reviews.

• Provide status reports to project managers describing accomplishments.

• Follow department quality assurance guidelines and processes.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 2+ years of Java application design and coding experience.

• Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Windows batch, Korn or Bash Shell, etc.).

• Experience with database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL and JDBC) desired.

• Experience with XML technologies such as DOM/SAX parsing and XSLT desired.

• Knowledge of dynamic programming languages such as Python or Groovy desired.

• Familiarity with test automation and automation frameworks such as Robot Framework, SoapUI and/or Selenium is a plus.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins desired.

• Working knowledge of Linux (RedHat), Unix (Solaris), and Windows.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Creative, problem-solving approach with developed multi-tasking ability.

• Ability to effectively function in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
