Position Description:
Systems Engineer- Java Architect
This position will be responsible for implementing and supporting n-tier custom applications based on apache/weblogic/oracle stacks.
You will also assist in the planning and execution of our security, release deployment, system availability for our various systems
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have a strong focus on Tools, Software Configuration Management and Infrastructure Management.
This position requires extensive knowledge of J2EE and web services standards, best practices, hands-on experience in installation, administration and
management of tools and various infrastructure stacks.
7+ years of experience with Web and Application Servers including Web Logic, Tomcat/Apache.
7+ years experience in analyzing and tuning applications in the areas such as memory management, process or thread management, resource management(JDBC Connection Pools, JMS etc)
7+ years experience working with Development and Operations teams in multi-tiered, high-volume production enviroments
3+ years experience in network configurations and layout (TCP/IP), managing security (SSL, Mutual authentication setup), load balancers, DNS and other infrastructure components
3+ years of experience in systems engineering and administration in a Linux/Solaris environments, preferably on virtualized infrastructure (VMWare/Solaris Zones)
Solid understanding of SDLC, configuration management tools and principles
Integration of middleware environments with authentication technologies such as Oracle Access Manager/SiteMinder and Messaging (JMS), Web Services, LDAP/AD
Good understanding of apache logs, configuration, rewrite rules etc. to debug issues
Scripting ability in Shell, PERL, Python, or other similar use language
Experience of file systems, nfs, dns, mail
Should be able to interpret system condition by looking at system stats/profiles
Automation experience in infrastructure monitoring, application server provisioning
Demonstrated organization, project management and follow-up skills.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver to timelines- Strong written and verbal Communication Skills, ability to communicate with business and technical groups effectively.
Skills that are "Must Haves":
Weblogic/Tomcat/Apache Installation & Administration
Application Build and Deployment using SCM Tools (Perforce, Jenkins, etc.)
Scripting (Perl, Shell, WLST)
UNIX Fundamentals - Must have worked in a UNIX/Linux environment and possess hands-on skills to troubleshoot application infrastructure using command-line
Hands-on troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve application configuration and performance issues across all tiers - web/app/DB/server/Network
Skills that are "Nice to Haves":
Oracle DBA skills
Storage Experience
