One of our client has an opening for Windows Server Administrator in WA area..

 

Job Title: Windows Server Administrator

Location:  Federal Way, WA

Duration: Longterm/Fulltime

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

; Strong understanding of Ubuntu OS, Red Hat OS, Puppet Management systems, MySQL, and Munin performance monitoring software packages. ; Will provide support to end users on a variety of issues in support of remotely located clinical system hardware and operating system. ; Will work with the team to identify and resolve technical problems. ; Will respond to work orders, email, telephone calls, and personnel requests for technical support. ; Will participate in rollout projects related to the clinical systems. ; Will document, track and monitor issues and requests to ensure a timely resolution. ; Will rely on personal knowledge, research, established procedures, instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. ; Will participate in reviewing, revising, or writing new procedures for the clinical systems support team. ; Deploys, configures, administers, maintains and troubleshoots servers ; Provides second level technical support for server hardware and software platforms ; Investigates and diagnoses problems, identifies and implements solutions ; Performs daily operations, application deployments and support  ; Completes requests for special reports and/or scheduled job processing ; Required to perform scripting/programming as part of ongoing system performance monitoring and management efforts ; Meets response time and availability and performance targets as outlined in service level agreements with business owners

Keywords           

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS;

·         5+ years of technical design, analysis, and support in the following: Ubuntu OS, Red Hat OS, Munin Performance Analysis ;

·         Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field) preferred, and Advanced Degree (Master's or MBA) desired or equivalent experience ;

·         Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skillsl;

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills;

·         Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team;

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment;

·         Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting;

·         Experience with HP hardware and HP Insight Manager or HP OpenView highly desired ; Proficiency in systems automation and scripting highly desired. ; LANDesk and VMWare experience considered a plus

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

·         SSH/SFTP/RSA keys ; APT/YUM/RPM ; Linux Terminal Services platform (Ubuntu 10.4 LTS) ; Windows Server 2003/Windows Server 2003 x64/ Windows Server 2008 ; OS installation and configuration ;

·         Background services ; Connectivity – LAN (bi-directional) ;

·         Scripting ; File transfer methodologies (FTP, SMB, etc.) ;

·         Use of policies to customize/restrict features ;

·         Maintenance and distribution of environmental configuration files and user profiles ;

·         Syslog log server analysis ;

·         Expert level hardware skills ; IDE, SATA and SCSI raid technologies
