Position: QA Tester with Cable TV and VOD exp

Location: Downingtown, Pennsylvania, USA

Duration: 12 months

Rate: $45-50/hr C2C

 

Desired skills

Familiarity with Cable TV systems including VOD products, technologies and industry trends

Knowledge of Cisco HE architecture and interfaces is highly desirable

Linux, Unix, and Windows Operating Systems

Strong knowledge of IP networks

Video headend knowledge including RF cabling, signal measurement, and distribution

Programming experience, familiarity with scripting languages

Understanding and experience of Java Platform, WildFly/JBoss AS

Working knowledge of Splunk, 5-7 yrs experience w/ RDBS administration

Knowledge of software development life cycle and test process and design skills

Knowledge and practical application of software development best practices

Proficiency with defect tracking software such as Bugzilla, Jira, ALM

Experience w/ formal SW engineering processes, risk assessment, application of test regiments

Experience with Agile methodology and working knowledge of Rally

Experience and knowledge of DTACS and SCP/SCC Encryption

Experience  and knowledge of DNCS/EC/ECS and Cisco headend equipment

Experience  with VSphere and VCenter

Knowledge of Informix Database

Experience and knowledge of Powerkey and Cisco settops

 

Job Description

Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance test philosophies and methodologies. Identifies viable test strategies in order to support testing product functionality.

Collaborates with product and development teams to identify product and technical requirements.

Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.

Ensures proper execution of regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts. - --Participates in design, code and functional product reviews.

Works with other Quality Assurance Engineers or Software Engineers to identify, reproduce and document bugs or defects.

Assists in providing guidance and mentorship for junior-level Quality Assurance Engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques.

Supports trials of new infrastructure designs/services.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
