Primary Skills:

Microsoft IIS 7, 7.5, and 8.0.Troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance of servers, Planning, designing and installation of servers, Microsoft system center, windows clustering and administration.,

Secondary Skills:

OS functions and external/3rd party tools like R shiny, Telerik, Octopus, Team Foundation Server and Tableau Server, Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University

Required Skills:

• 84+ Months of Experience in Planning, designing and installation of servers, Microsoft system center, windows clustering and administration.

• 84+ Months of Experience in Troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance of servers.

• 84+ Months of Experience in Performance tuning, using built In OS functions and external/3rd party tools like R shiny, Telerik, Octopus, Team Foundation Server and Tableau Server.

• 84+ Months of Experience in Installing and configuring IIS and third-party software packages including Microsoft IIS 7, 7.5, and 8.0.

• 84+ Months of experience and expertise in Failover and High Availability for web servers and web-based applications.

• 84+ Months of experience in Administer, configure, and troubleshoot third-party tools (TIENET, LaserFiche, and OMTool)

• 84+ Months of experience in performance tuning and load balancing.

• 84+ Months of experience in providing integration support services for web servers and web-based applications

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University

Description:

State of New York: New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE)

Project: Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR)

Short Description: The web project utilizes platforms and application servers that lie outside the core competencies of the Web Server Operations group. Due to the aggressive timeframes for the Web Properties development, we need resources to assist with architectural design and deployment and to jump start staff development. This individual will be responsible for installation, configuration, and management of the Server software components (other than database) that are a part of the solution.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze system performance and suggest/implement tuning as needed.

• Develop system tools and utilities (i.e. scripts, etc.) to simplify and support IT and business operations.

• Plan, implement and manage systems initiatives with IT and customer teams.

• Establish and maintain technical standards and server security policies.

• Patch servers, both software and firmware, on scheduled basis as well as urgent security releases.

• Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Trend Forecasting.

• Document and improve upon processes, procedures, and best practices to align with industry standards and customer needs.

• Availability reporting.

• Web Server configuration and administration: IIS, Netscape and Apache.

• Meet Disaster Recovery requirements to ensure Business Resumption requirements.

• Provide high-level of customer satisfaction to internal and external customers, applying necessary sense of urgency and creativity in problem identification and prompt incident resolution.

• Provide advanced systems administration.

• Analyze system performance and suggest/ implement tuning as needed.

• Install additional OpenSource and commercial software products as needed to develop, deploy, and support the platform.

• Administer and support specific platform tools including-but not limited to- TIENET, Laserfiche Rio, and OMTool AccuRoute software
