Job Description
Analyst Programmer with proven ability to turn business requirements into software solutions. Core iSeries (AS400) development skills are required; knowledge of SunGard GMI platform, XML, MQ and Java would be preferable. The role requires good communication skills as the individual will be expected to work as part of a globally distributed application development team partnering closely with middle and back office users.
• Analyse business requirements specifications.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
• Write and maintain technical specifications according to functional specifications.
• Build application software in line with technical specifications.
• Create implementation plans and manage implementations.
• Follow specified procedures throughout software life cycle using F&O workflow tools
• Work closely with other application teams and business groups.
• Work closely with global F&O Plan, Build and Operate teams.
• Record/document information within our knowledge database.
• Communicate effectively with business users, sponsors and other AD teams
Skills Required :
Experience of full software development project life cycle
• Extensive knowledge of OS400, CL, RPG (including IV and Free-Format ), ILE, MQ Series, SQL
• Able to link business needs to technical solutions.
• Capable of managing the implementation of solutions to complex problems independently.
• Proven track record for delivering multiple concurrent tasks end-to-end to meet project deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of problem management methodologies
Nice to have:
Exchange traded derivatives or Investment Banking business background. Specifically Futures & Options. / OTC Cleared
• Knowledge of SunGard GMI platform
• XML related skills – MQ Serve, Xpath, XQuery, XSLT, Mule
• Experience with industry standard XLM formats such as FIXML and FpML
• Experience with Java development on IBM iSeries platform
