Duration: 6 Months

Responsibilities: 

• Performs database administration functions for MYSQL and SQLServer data base systems. 
• Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production and test databases while ensuring high levels of data availability.
• Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures for MySQL to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.
• Installing and configuring database systems, software patches and upgrades for MySQL 5.6x (or higher) on RedHat Linux 5/6 virtual servers.
• Implements MySQL High Availability (HA), partitioning and replication features.
• Creates and maintains MySQL userids and security roles.
• Assists application developers with tuning SQL in applications and Stored Procedures
• Controls and monitors disk space allocation for multiple databases.
• Provides MySQL DBA support and problem resolution support for developers.
• Creates, loads, and refreshes databases for testing.
• SQLserver Database Administrator's role is to support database administration tasks for Day to Day and Corporate Initiative projects.

Position Requirements: 

• Requires a BA/BS in Computer Science and 5-7 years of experience as a Senior DBA. Equivalent experience supporting complex and critical IT environments will be evaluated in lieu of these requirements where applicable.
• Must be able to perform routine database tasks without the need for GUI interface.
• Position requires strong oral and written communications skills.
• Position requires strong RedHat Linux skill set.
• Experience with sql 2008, 2008r2 and 2012
• Experience with troubleshooting ofdatabase slow performance 
• Experience with backup and restore of databases using native backups. 
• Experience with SQLServer security 
• Must be willing to work weekends and on call on an as needed basis.

Preferred Skills:

• ServiceNow application or administration is highly desirable.
• Experience with: sql litespeed, Sql safe, BMC SQLBacktrack a plus.
