A financial trading company in Midtown Manhattan is building a new Data center and needs someone to come on board to help Deploy, Install and troubleshoot Applications.
It is a fairly junior role
Need someone who can deploy and install applications
This is a consulting opportunity that is for a new data center buildout. The role is to have the candidate come in and make an immediate impact with nominal training to deploy all of the firms trading/core applications into the new data center. The lifespan of this role is expected to be 6 months, depending on the conclusion and successful delivery of this new data center.
Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for confirming all core services and installation from the server framework buildout
• Work with the sysad team to correct any issues related to the core installation of servers, including access to resolve itself
• Work with the head of PE to build out the application infrastructure space in the new data center
• Test and confirm all application and infrastructure buildout successful per client's environment
• Remedy any issues during application buildout phase
• Act as main resource to help test and validate network connectivity with sysad team when migrating clients to the new data center from an application testing perspective
SKILLS DESIRED
Education Requirements:
Bachelors in computer science or electrical engineering or related
Technical Skills:
• 5-7 years' experience in a production trading environment
• Must have experience with CentOS Linux environment
• Ability to troubleshoot system using built in OS functionality and system logs, i.e., sar, var/adm logs, etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot electronic trading systems
• Solid experience with deployment management and application installation activities
• Ability to install software packages and patches.
• Solid experience managing and configuring JVM and Tibco based applications
• Has worked in the electronic trading space
