Front-End Software Engineer (UI Developer) for New York City LOCAL candidates ONLY

Role: Front-end Software Engineer

Location: New York, NY.

Description:

This candidate will serve as Frontend Software Engineer in Marketing / Ecommerce team, develop and integrate homegrown and 3rdparty marketing systems (A/B testing, Personalization, Content Management). Be a collaborative part of a cross functional team of extremely talented developers who love to learn and grow. Introduce and leverage new technologies. Assure consistent design and development standards. Work in several simultaneous development and quality assurance threads.


Required Skills:

• 4+ years' experience of hands-on building web applications with a focus on frontend.
• Extensive experience in JavaScript and other clientside technologies, including native
• Javascript and modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks ( jQuery, Require.js, Backbone, Angular or ReactJs).
• Experience with CSS2, CSS3, Sass, XHTML, HTML5 and responsive layouts.
• Strong experience integrating systems using Rest APIs.
• Exposure to a full stack, experience with at least 1 backend technology like Java, PHP, Node, Python, etc. Understanding of HTTP
• Good knowledge of Git & SVN.
• Experience with Unix.
• Understanding of modern software development methodologies and frameworks.
• Team player who can meet deadlines autonomously.
• Good communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent / higher experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Hudson / Jenkins Continuous Integration environment and experience with deployment automation.
• Experience with Node JS, Express is a plus.
• Experience with Grunt or Gulp task runners.
• Experience with unit and functional testing.
• Experience with Digital Marketing domain, working with Optimizely, Google Experiments, Monetate or similar A/B testing and Personalization tools.
