Job Title: Ruby On Rails Developer
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Remote)
Duration: 06 Months
Job Description –
You'll ensure our products reach their destination, improve customer experience, and integrate administrations systems. As a Senior Engineer in the DTC Engineering organization, you'll help shape the software used to deliver a good night's sleep both directly and through mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
Supervisory Responsibility and Key relationships:
This position does not have any direct reports, though you'll have the opportunity to engage in One-on-One pairing/mentoring sessions with junior engineers.
What You'll Do (Essential Job Functions):
From inception to production our engineers are invested in the solutions that we build. With DTC Engineering you'll be working in an environment consisting primarily of Ruby on Rails, Javascript, RSpec, and Postgres deployed to Heroku with growing use of AWS. We believe strongly in continuous deployment and use Buildkite and Cypress to do so.
In our tech stack, you'll be working on an application responsible for most post-purchase activities for our business including order routing, tracking, and servicing. The application you'll help guide touches several aspects of our DTC business including:
- eCommerce Storefront
- Supply Chain
- Logistics
- Customer Experience
- Owned Retail
- Partnership Retail
Other Job Duties:
As a Senior Engineer, you'll help us to ensure that our application is robust and resilient. We are regularly evaluating improvements to our architecture and our stack. You'll have a seat at the table as we plan the future of our DTC approach as we continue to grow our business all while:
- Delivering new features, enhancements, and fixes (we move fast, bugs happen) to our application
- Participate in code reviews ensuring the high quality of our code
- Collaborate with peers to level up skill sets and code quality across the engineering team
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle

Education and Experience:
- At least 5 years of meaningful experience in Ruby on Rails

- Experience building enterprise-level applications and integrations
- Passion for Test Driven Development
- Shopify Plus experience a plus
