Description:

Senior Network Engineer - UNIX

Looking for a talented Network Engineer. The individual will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues; analyzing business and support requirements; and delivering the most efficient, quality solutions to meet those requirements.

Primary areas of responsibility will include:
* Installation, deployment and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, and software
* Handling all aspects of systems administration, including maintenance of servers, NetApp SANS, back-up and restoration procedures, and scripting
* Participation in departmental and site-wide engineering projects
* After hours, holiday and weekend support on-call 24/7 as scheduled in rotation with other engineers
* Administration of the company's switches and firewalls
* Interacting with developers and business personnel regarding hardware, software, e-mail, and network
* Installing new software releases, performing system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and resolving software related problems
* Maintaining data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity
* Disaster recovery across company's multiple data centers

The ideal candidate will possess:
* 6 years of experience in systems administration in a production environment
* Working knowledge of system security techniques and best practices
* Great attitude, with the ability to perform well both as an individual contributor and as a team member
* Experience in supporting mission-critical systems to ensure high availability
* Strong knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux and Windows
* Strong knowledge and experience with Storage Area Networks
* Scripting ability (Perl, Bash, Ant)
* Proficient at supporting and troubleshooting Apache and Tomcat servers.
* Experience with load-balancers, switches, and firewalls in a production environment
* Extensive knowledge of security technologies, practice, and protocols.
* Experience with fault tolerant systems including clusters, fail over systems, and RAID storage and volume management.

Experience with any of the following is a plus:
* Java Development
* MySQL
* Sendmail
* Postfix,
* Subversion (SVN)
* Mercurial
* Maven
* Amazon EC2

General Requirements:
*Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
*Strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
*Excellent written and oral communications.
*Must have strong problem solving skills.
*Must be able to work as a team player.
*Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
*Needs to be creative and flexible
*Position requires candidate to travel occasionally to remote site or perform evening work for system maintenance.
