Job Title: Senior Datastage Developer

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Note: Must have Teradata and Mainframe exp. 

 

Description: Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives. Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing. Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts. Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.- Collect and Manage and Enhance existing ETL development standards,

- Attend project walk-through meetings and follow up thru the successful completion of all the stages of the project life cycle (Analysis, Design, Development, and Testing)

- Creation of overall process or job flow - Build new ETL processes for loading data into our enterprise data warehouse, active data warehouse, data marts or for downstream customers. Must be able to create and maintain programs on both the mainframe and unix platforms. Must be able to build complex transformations logic and routines using ETL tool such as Datastage and Ab Initio.

- Create the detailed ETL design specifications and responsible for successful completion of all the tasks identified.

- Create and document schedules for managing small, medium, and large ETL systems using CA7 (mainframe) and CA Autosys (Unix). Schedules must take into consideration all development standards, and also adhere to the load balancing practices. Document and provide the graphical representation of the jobs process flow using Microsoft Visio. Need to code the job schedule using Job Information Language.

- Develop Korn Shell (KSH) scripts as necessary. KSH scripts must be restartable, log all output, and do their own error and exception handling. Script may be written in Unix KSH, C /C++, Perl or Python. Must be able to do the complex C / C++ programming logic in buildops including the header files.

- Create appropriate ETL documentation - All ETL processes require full run documentation, including verbal descriptions and detailed process flows.

- Must have TERADATA & Mainframe experience.
