JOB TITLE: Sr. Programmer Analyst II (Mainframe developer)

 

Job Description:

 

The Multiline and Intranet Division seeks an experienced Mainframe developer for the Umbrella Systems team. This position will work closely with customers, business and technical analysts, and team members to support the maintenance of legacy mainframe applications operating with client server environments. Knowledge of COBOL/CICS/DB2/MVS JCL is required. Experience with CICS Web Servicesand some knowledge of .NET or object oriented technologies is a plus.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:

•          Performing analysis and corrective programming to resolve application system problems

•          Performing application design, implementation and maintenance activities, under minimal direction.

•          Consulting on policies, standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to effectively administer application development

•          Documenting and maintaining application requirements and technical specifications

•          Consulting with users to refine requirements and development projects as needed

•          Evaluating performance of systems and investigating alternatives for systems improvements

•          Performing special analysis or assignments as requested by management

•          Participation in oncall rotation to support production systems

Qualifications:

•          5+ years experience in developing, maintaining and supporting a large-scale mainframe applications with client serve interfaces

•          CICS Transaction Server 3.0

•          DB2/SQL SPUFI

•          MVS JCL

•          FTP

•          Knowledge of Client Server interfaces in a Windows environment

•          Ability to code and maintain CICS transactions

•          Ability to code and maintain DB2 database calls

•          Ability to code SQL SPUFIs

•          Ability to communicate complex technical issues in writing and verbally to a diverse audience

•          Ability to work well in a team

•          Ability to work well with end users of varying skill levels

•          Ability to multi-task and prioritize to balance workloads in a dynamic environment

•          Desire and aptitude to cross over into support of other technical functions within the division.

•          Desire and aptitude to learn .Net technology and SQL Server database

•          Job grade for this position will be determined based on qualifications, and applicants of various levels of expertise will be considered.
