The client indeed is looking for an Admin but will also check experience on development side too.

Requirement Details –

Administration experience required to include MOSS Farm and IIS administration and tuning.

Administer a large (x server front end, x server back end SQL Server cluster)

Experience in SharePoint 2010

Demonstrated experience in supporting web applications presented through multiple browsers:  Firefox 3.0, Internet Explorer 7.0, Opera, Camino

Experience with Database Design and Implementation preferred

Understanding of n-tier Application Architecture (e.g. MVC, SOA) and Design Patterns Provide SharePoint Subject Matter expertise as needed to support IT and  business customers worldwide.

Assist in configuring Farm and Site Collection security and administration with the ability to advise and configure solutions using Content Management, Work Flows and standard templates using best practices.

Deliver solutions using excellent customer service and providing regular status reports for all activities and the environment.

Publishing Portal experience is a huge plus
