The Senior Systems Analyst supports communication, workflow documentation, issue reporting and other requirements between the project, the agency, IT and other related support departments.

Detailed Description:

• Assists in the definition of the MITA project scope and approach and appropriate project team members;
• Educates the project team on the implementation process and negotiate expectations for project process and outcomes;
• Assists in the management of the project so that it meets team members and business users mutually-agreed upon expectations;
• Assists with the customization of work plans for agency projects with project team and establishes mutually agreed-to dates and responsibilities;
• Assembles issues list and facilitates resolution of those issues. Provides ongoing quality assurance review of work plan progress;
• Facilitates all project team, specification gathering and training meetings;
• Develops and facilitates systems specifications working in conjunction with vendor, users, and IT specialists;
• Develops detailed plans. Establishes responsibilities of IT and business users in completing the plans and ensures that resources are dedicated to the complete the MITA processes;
• Develops report specifications working in conjunction with vendor, IT and business users;
• Assists in the development of implementation plans and attends initial data gathering sessions. Where appropriate, provides high level assistance to business users;
• Possesses the ability to support two major Enterprise-wide projects simultaneously;
• Thoroughly understands user's environment and how new application software can be used to increase efficiencies, cost effectiveness and quality care;
• Becomes expert on existing application software functionality. Understands which features and functions are currently in use and which are not;
• Attends vendor user group meetings and interacts with other clients with the same application software to gain more knowledge of software functionalities;
• Keeps abreast of developments in product new releases. Keeps users informed of new developments and makes recommendations for implementation;
• Maintains central list of enhancement requests for the product and advocates user priorities with vendor; and
• Keeps central problem log of ongoing maintenance issues and tracks with vendor. Escalates issues to Director as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as tasked.

 

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered, you must have five years experience as an analyst supporting applications, assisting with system implementations and upgrades, and functioning in a project management role. A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is also required. The ideal person will have worked directly with large application infrastructures like Meditech, and supported Health Information Exchange (HIE) interfaces.

 

Additionally, client would be looking for someone with prior experience in a hospital setting.  The individual should be aware of acute, long-term, and mental healthcare operations.  Be familiar with backend hospital business processes, like pharmacy and finance.
