Must have mainframe/cobol migration experience into Datastage and 3 years with v8.X

 

Client is looking to migrate its custom ETL code currently executing on the mainframe, to IBM Infosphere DataStage ETL tool.  A Feasibility project has been completed to determine an Infrastructure for housing the application on DataStage and also to determine a high level migration effort.  The application is now preparing to perform Analysis and Design effort with the intent of creating an overall in depth design for this application on DataStage.

 

This position will lead in performing Analysis and Design effort to create DataStage ETL job designs & technical specs that is complete, consistent, reusable & achievable.  Using information from the Feasibility study, the scope of the Analysis and Design for DataStage will be for the overall

application's ETL which involves the Extract and Transformation code currently executing on the mainframe and the Load of the target data onto Oracle database currently done via load scripts. Develop and communicate standards for DataStage ETL module design, development, testing and implementation. 

 

Minimum of 6 years hands on technical architecture/end-to-end design/developer experience using IBM DataStage EE (w/3 yrs using v8.x) & DataStage on a Linux based SMP, Cluster topology.  Proven experience converting ETL processes, jobs, programs from mainframe COBOL to DataStage.  Deep understanding of relational DB concepts and SQL.  Strong knowledge of Linux OS on x86 hardware.
