Original Issue:

Currently client's report (Client name_DEFERRED_REVENUE) takes 6+ hours to execute and with business unit consolidation happening in the next 2 months, we will require to tweak this report and improve performance.

 

 

Client's Analysis and Resolution:

As this nVision report is query based first we looked at the query behind the nVision report (Client name_DEFERRED_REVENUE), it was taking around 1 hour 40 minutes to execute in backend and hence the delay in generating the report. So, we have tuned the SQL behind the report in such a way that the query executes in less than 8 minutes and this has improved the performance of the report very significantly. Now the report is giving output in 4 hours.

 

 

Expectations:

Users still want to get this report faster than what we are giving and that can be done from nVision report side by tuning the logics and by following some performance standards. So we need help in this area to decrease the execution time of this report from 4 hours.
