I have a need for Lead Java Developer with my client Hachette in Boston, MA.

This client has very technical phone interviews, so the candidates must be senior level Lead Java Developers with great communication skills.

Location: Boston, MA

Position: Java Developer

Duration: 6 Month

Rate: 55 - 65 HR DOE

Interview: Phone

 

Start: Immediately 

 

Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring and customizing the solutions as well as developing and maintaining Java/J2EE based applications*

This is a technical role which requires object-oriented programming skills, understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, J2EE application architecture, Web services and XML experience.


Responsibilities include:

* Working closely with the solution analysts to understand business requirements and providing innovative solutions
* Configuring and developing business rules for the applications
* Developing, testing, debugging and documenting integration interfaces in accordance with architectural guidelines and practices.
* Understanding and working from business requirements documentation (Use Cases, UML as well as traditional software specifications).
* Applying industry standard object-oriented programming best practices and J2EE design patterns.
* Developing, testing and maintaining Web Services and Java components.
* Planning, initiating and conducting unit and integration testing of applications as well as facilitate system testing.
* Supporting and troubleshooting production implementations.
* Working with the technical lead and architects to resolve complex technical issues and understand system performance associated with the solution.
* Working as a part of a project team, sharing technical and product knowledge with other team members.
* Participating in technology/tools evaluation and software technical proof of concepts.


Qualifications include:
* Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
* Must have three to five years experience in a similar role in a mid-size to large corporate environment.
* J2EE design patterns, software architecture concepts and web application security preferred.
* Excellent object-oriented programming (Java) skills, very good analytical and design skills required.
* Understanding of relational database technologies
* Knowledge of J2EE component architecture required
* Experience with the full SDLC lifecycle required.
