This is Mohiuddin form OneApps Enterprise, one of our Direct Client is looking for Sybase Application DBA,
Please find the requirement details below.
Position: Sybase Application DBA
Location: Downtown Chicago, IL
Duration: 1 Year (Contract)
Rate: Negotiable
Experience Level: 4-5 years
Roles and Responsibilities :
Help support teams for analysis of Production database performance issues
Help development team for performance tuning during development
Monitor prod and non-prod environment for performance issues pro actively
using in-house tools and give suggestions
Manage database sql code in Source control and work along with release manager
to co-ordinate non-prod and production releases of DB code.
Manage masking activities for database
Co-coordinating setup of new servers, database / users, refresh of databases
with other teams
Co-ordinate activities for database patches / upgrades /migrations
Execute small projects on need basis (one time data migrations, implementing
monitoring across apps, automating day-2-day activities)
Technology:
Sybase ASE 15 (In depth knowledge of performance tuning, Sybase internals).
Hands-on Unix Shell scripting (for fixing existing scripts, writing DB
monitoring scripts).
Knowledge of Perl / awk will be advantage.
